Tomahawk Summer Camp 2013 Merit Badges
# = limited availability. Priority is given based on age then rank.
Scouts must let the camp coordinator know before May 25th if they wish to sign up for limited availability merit badges.

Horsemanship Merit Badge Costs $20.00 for the week and Scouts will be expected to do barn chores before breakfast and at 5:15pm
5 New Merit Badge Offerings
This year Tomahawk will be offering Emergency Preparedness, Space Exploration, and Oceanography Merit Badges. We are providing a variety of Merit Badge offerings annually to better meet the needs of our returning Scouts.

Eagle required badges offered:
Camping, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Science, First Aid, Lifesaving, Personal Fitness, Swimming
* Note: Emergency Preparedness or Lifesaving are required for Eagle, not both.
Merit badges that are offered at Tomahawk but do not seem to be offered at Many Point or Decorah (at least this year) are:
Chess, Horseback Riding, Oceanography, Space Exploration

- First year campers are encourages to work on Tenderfoot - First Class requirements bt attending Brownsea.
- Most first year campers also try merit badges such as Leatherwork, Basketry, Wood Carving, or Mammal Study.
- 2-3 merit badges in a week is a challenging goal. Many scouts have signed up for 4. It depends on what the merit badge is.

*Scouts seeking Bird Study Merit Badge can earn it by attending one night session and the Feathers program on Friday Morning. Talk to the Ecology Director if you are interested in attending.
